About

amma (um ma): mother, maternal figure, the righteous one.

By day, I’m a worker in a cubicle, fighting the florescent lighting. By night, I am a second-shifter, and sometimes teacher. On the weekends, I clean, dream, cook, and read a book. At all times, I am an amma. Like a cartographer, my course is uncharted but this identity remains no matter what to my toor dals (TD1 & TD2). As we go to the SOTH, I look forward to keeping track of the family’s path, sudden shifts, the known knowns, the known unknowns, the unknown unknows, and the unknown knowns. You get the point. And, yes, I am South Asian.
